The boundary
Agent work needs an operating surface, not another black box. Weald dispatches, watches and verifies work locally, while its relay carries encrypted workspace state between trusted devices.
We lose server-side search by design. Your client indexes decrypted state on your machine instead.
The field
| Tool | Strength | Different tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Buzz | Human and agent collaboration | Server features need readable content |
| Latch | Tool policy and session governance | Focused on enforcement at runtime |
| Aura | Git-native proof and parallel work | Focused on code provenance |
| Weald | Dispatch, attention and QA evidence | Workspace state stays local-first |
What matters
Weald does not replace an agent, GitHub or your editor. It gives the developer one place to launch work, see the human bottleneck and inspect proof before accepting a result.
